The best route is not always the fastest way home. Garmin zūmo XT3 is for riders who would rather string together a great set of corners, then see what the ride looked like afterward. This 4.7-inch motorcycle navigator combines detailed maps, lean-angle data and configurable routing; optional Garmin Performance Package features add separate tools for track and drag-racing sessions.

Find the roads worth riding

Garmin Adventurous Routing offers four difficulty settings for seeking curves, hills and interesting roads. Popular moto paths show where other riders go. Great Rides in the Tread app lets you discover, bookmark, rate and share routes and photos.

Build a route on the device or in the compatible Tread app. Select curves, hills and scenic byways, or import GPX, KML and KMZ files. Street maps, topographic mapping, high-definition 3D terrain and subscription-free satellite imagery offer several views of the route. Download imagery directly over Wi-Fi.

Planned and dynamic fuel stops, TripAdvisor ratings and Ultimate Public Campgrounds information support a full day out. Landmark directions, lane assistance, speed-limit information, helmet-law notices and rider alerts help you prepare for route changes. Free Ride compass guidance provides a simple bearing and distance when that is all you need.

View lean angle, G-force, maximum speed and other ride-summary information, then share through Tread. The track recorder captures speed, distance, lean, acceleration and other ride data. GPS, Galileo and 25 Hz multi-GNSS positioning support the system.

An active Garmin Performance Package is required for the drag timer, 0–60 mph, 1/8-mile and 1/4-mile measurements, lap review and the listed motorsport analysis functions. Paid capabilities include lap metrics, delta times, segment analysis, comparisons and supported track information. Buying the navigator does not activate that package.

Pair a compatible smartphone running Tread for traffic, weather, notifications, route management and incident notifications. Detected incidents can trigger a text with location to your selected contact when the required paired phone, Bluetooth, GPS and app connection are available. Keep your headset paired to the phone to hear directions and control music through that connection.

The compact version with the correct mount

This is the 4.7-inch SKU 010-03862-00. It includes a motorcycle post mount and hardware. Garmin specifies M8 mounting bolts in 55, 60 and 65 mm lengths. The handlebar kit shown for the 6-inch XT3 is a different package. The glove-friendly display measures 4.66 inches diagonally, runs at 1280 × 720 and supports either orientation.

The housing is built for weather and handlebar vibration and carries IPX7 water, IP6X dust and MIL-STD-810 drop ratings. A rechargeable battery is rated for up to 7 hours, or up to 5 hours at full brightness. The motorcycle power cable is included. Storage is 64 GB with optional microSD expansion up to 256 GB; Wi-Fi handles map and software updates.

Optional equipment includes zūmo R1 Radar for supported rear and blind-spot information, the wired Handlebar Controller, BC 50 camera, Garmin PowerSwitch and compatible inReach communicators. Group Ride Mobile needs Tread and cellular connectivity on every rider’s compatible phone. Outside cell coverage, compatible Group Ride Radio equipment requires vehicle power and the additional XT3 Group Ride Radio Y-adapter.
