Use supported Adventure Roads and Trails, OpenStreetMap and USFS Motor Vehicle Use Map content for turn-by-turn off-road guidance. Available difficulty ratings add route context; maps remain a supplement to signs, permitted access and actual conditions.
Satellite Views
Download high-resolution satellite imagery over Wi-Fi to inspect routes and surrounding terrain. This satellite-image download feature does not need an annual imagery subscription.
Custom Routing
North American City Navigator street maps can use your rig’s size and weight profile when suggesting a route. Receive supported hazard alerts for issues such as sharp curves and speed changes. Coverage and profile handling are limited; verify clearance and suitability.
Great Rides
Use Great Rides in the Tread smartphone app to discover off-road routes, bookmark rides for the navigator, rate difficulty and contribute photos.
Outdoor Maps+
Add a paid Outdoor Maps+ subscription for Garmin’s supported premium map layers and ongoing content access. It is an optional service separate from the navigator purchase.
Easy Route Planner
Build routes in the Tread app using the maps and preferences you use on the navigator. Import and export GPX files to exchange plans with the rest of the group.
Campgrounds
The preloaded Ultimate Public Campgrounds directory covers more than 46,000 U.S. camping locations, giving you more options for the end of the day.
Group Ride Mobile
When everyone uses the Tread app’s Group Ride Mobile feature, follow your friends from a compatible smartphone or Tread navigator.
Sync Your Devices
Keep waypoints, tracks, routes and collections aligned between your compatible mobile device and navigator through the Tread app.
Elevation Maps And More
High-definition elevation mapping adds terrain context to off-road exploring. Dirt and snow trails sit alongside City Navigator street mapping for the journey back.
ABC Sensors
Built-in altitude, barometric and compass sensors add useful information when the terrain gets demanding. Pitch and roll gauges are also included in the navigator’s feature set.
Know Your Boundaries
See mapped public lands including national forests, BLM areas and wilderness. Private-parcel information and landowner details are shown for supported parcels larger than four acres; always confirm permission and access.
Live Weather
Pair a compatible smartphone and use the Tread app for live weather information, storm alerts and animated radar when the needed connection is available.
Traveling Music
Control music stored on a compatible smartphone from the navigation display and listen through a compatible Bluetooth helmet or headset.
Digital Switch Box
Add a Garmin PowerSwitch digital switch box to manage supported 12-volt accessories from the navigator. It can handle functions such as light bars and differential locks; it is not intended for reverse-polarity motors.
inReach Technology
Pair a compatible, separately sold inReach satellite communicator for messaging, interactive SOS and weather with an active satellite plan. Selected paired devices also support photo and voice messaging.
Dog Tracking
Pair a compatible Garmin GPS dog-tracking system to display dogs within tracking range on the navigation map. Tracking equipment is purchased separately.
Group Ride Radio
Add a compatible Group Ride Radio to share locations and talk with the group outside cellular coverage. Use the radio’s push-to-talk mic or pair compatible Bluetooth helmet/headset equipment for hands-free communication.
Messaging On The Go
Send and receive two-way messages on the navigator’s display with other Garmin Messenger users. Both people need Garmin Messenger installed on their paired smartphones.
Installation and what to plan for
This 010-03021-00 package includes the suction-cup mount, locking magnet-assisted mount and vehicle power cable. It does not include the optional PowerSwitch bundle. Storage is 64 GB with optional microSD support up to 256 GB. Download the Tread app to plan routes, exchange GPX files and sync data; smartphone features need a compatible phone and the required connection.
Satellite messaging and SOS require a separately sold compatible inReach communicator and an active satellite subscription; inReach is not built into Tread 2. Outdoor Maps+ is optional and paid. PowerSwitch, Group Ride Radio, external antenna, dog-tracking system, handlebar controller and BC 50 camera are optional. Route/profile data has coverage and accuracy limits; verify roads, signs, vehicle clearances and trail access. Garmin Messenger messaging requires both users to have the app on paired smartphones.
