Product details
The one-inch black Remote Tandem master is supplied without a pedal pushrod, distinguishing it from the rod-equipped version. Two seven-ounce reservoirs, feed components and line adapters accompany the cylinder for a custom dual-circuit installation. Wilwood Engineering designs disc brake systems and manufactures a range of calipers, master cylinders, valves, fittings, rotors and brake lines. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, the Camarillo, California company serves specialized, street-performance and motorsport applications. Component selection requires understanding the brake assembly as a whole, including its hydraulic sizing and mechanical interfaces.
Technical Details

- Material: Aluminum / Plastic
- Cylinder bore: 1.00"
- Pressure circuits: 2
- Reservoir Type: Remote
- Fluid capacity: 7.0 / 7.0 oz
- Flange-to-end length: 6.56"
- Overall Length: 7.16"
- Mounting centers: 3.22–3.40"
- Finish: Black E-coat
- Native pressure ports: 1/2-20 at both circuits; use the correct included outlet adapters and seal washers
- Circuit outlet adapters: Primary: 3/8-24 or 1/2-20 inverted flare; secondary: 3/8-24 or 9/16-18 inverted flare
- Hydraulic relationship: Equal pressure output from the two circuits before external proportioning; 2:1 primary/secondary volume relationship
- Service: Factory rebuild only; do not disassemble the tandem piston assembly
- Travel check: DS-1189 specifies 1.12-inch stroke and also states 1.10 inches in its full-travel warning; verify actual full piston travel before the pedal reaches a stop
- Reservoir feed: 0.87-inch inlet seating diameter with 11/16-20 internal thread; 1/4-inch feed-hose adapters for the standard remote reservoirs
- Reservoir package: Two 7 oz reservoirs with caps, brackets, clamps, hoses and feed adapters for direct or remote mounting
Fitment & Compatibility
Check the actuator's engagement depth and alignment in the piston recess; use the specified spacer where a compatible short-rod booster requires it. Allow the piston to travel fully and return to its retainer. The nominal 3.22–3.40-inch flange span does not make the master suitable for every vehicle with that bolt spacing.
