This PCM pad set pairs the SX6R/D1792 profile with friction intended specifically for vented carbon-ceramic rotors. The D1792 outline is also used in iron-rotor applications, but shared geometry does not make PCM friction suitable for those rotors; the supplied thickness also requires confirmation. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, Wilwood Engineering is based in Camarillo, California. PCM provides medium to medium-high friction for street/strip, drag-racing and track-day categories using vented carbon-ceramic rotors. Wilwood rates dust and noise as low. The rotor-material requirement is fundamental: an iron-rotor vehicle sharing the same pad shape is not automatically compatible.

Fitment & Compatibility

Wilwood’s compatible-caliper list names SX6R Radial Mount. The Mustang rows below identify applications sharing the D1792 pad shape; they do not establish compatibility with PCM friction on the original brake rotors. PCM requires a verified vented carbon-ceramic rotor package. Do not install it on factory iron rotors solely because the vehicle or pad outline matches; confirm the complete SX6R or other brake installation with Wilwood. Thickness also requires confirmation: the exact product page lists 0.60 inch, while Wilwood’s ordering-search description states 0.661 inch. Do not treat those values as interchangeable.
