Product details
The Purple friction material in this GP320 set is intended for sprint-car brake systems, including aluminum rotor applications. Its 0.44-inch pad profile is larger than the GP200 form, making exact caliper identification essential despite the shared compound color. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines form Wilwood Engineering’s disc brake range. Bill Wood founded the Camarillo, California company in 1977; it designs and manufactures systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Matching the component to the rest of the brake package is fundamental to selection.

Purple is a composite metallic racing compound developed for high-temperature durability on aluminum and other low-conductivity alloy rotors. Wilwood lists sprint-car use with aluminum, steel and stainless-steel rotor compatibility. Select it for the specified racing rotor and heat conditions, not merely because another pad has the same purple compound name.
Fitment & Compatibility
Wilwood’s compatible-caliper list names GP320. Verify the required new-pad thickness alongside the plate’s contact and mounting surfaces. Rotor material and operating temperature must also match the friction compound; a shape match alone is insufficient.
