Product details

These Purple-compound pads serve GP200 calipers in sprint-car brake applications. Their small 0.31-inch profile uses composite metallic friction formulated for sustained heat on aluminum and other low-conductivity alloy rotor applications. The manufacturer is Wilwood Engineering, established in 1977 by Bill Wood and based in Camarillo, California. Its design and manufacturing work covers disc brake systems and components—calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines—for street-performance, motorsport and specialized applications. Selection must account for how those components operate together.

Purple is a composite metallic racing compound developed for high-temperature durability on aluminum and other low-conductivity alloy rotors. Wilwood lists sprint-car use with aluminum, steel and stainless-steel rotor compatibility. Select it for the specified racing rotor and heat conditions, not merely because another pad has the same purple compound name.

Fitment & Compatibility

Wilwood’s compatible-caliper list names GP200. Check the pad’s mounting outline against the installed caliper before choosing this set. A shared friction compound does not make different plate profiles interchangeable, and axle position cannot be inferred from the compound.

With over 20 years of experience, PMB Performance can help compare the installed brake package with the required pad profile and compound. Caliper details are more useful than a vehicle model alone on a modified system.
