Wilwood GNX4/GNX5 Metallic Racing Brake Pads with Pins and Clips

This metallic racing-pad package includes four pads with retaining pins and clips for the listed GNX4 and GNX5 calipers. Wilwood specifies a 0.57-inch pad thickness and racing-only use, so it should not be substituted for a street-approved friction compound. Since Bill Wood established Wilwood Engineering in 1977, its work has centered on the design and manufacture of disc brake systems. Wilwood’s current CM classification is a high-friction metallic racing compound with smooth initial response and resistance to sustained heat. Its formulation emphasizes stainless-steel rotors; the manufacturer also lists steel, iron, super alloy and titanium within the appropriate brake application. This compound is racing-only, not for street use. Wilwood suggests BP30 as an alternative, but profile, thickness and rotor compatibility still require confirmation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Wilwood’s compatible-caliper list names GNX4, GNX5. The replacement must match more than pad width: verify the plate shape, locating ears or holes, and caliper clearance for the stated thickness. Front or rear placement is determined by the actual brake installation.
