Wilwood Rear Red-Caliper SRP Brake Conversion — Old-Style Big Ford, 12.88-Inch Rotors at 2.36-Inch Axle Offset

This red Superlite package adds drilled/slotted 12.88-inch service rotors to the documented old-style Big Ford rear housing. Internal parking shoes are included, while compatible cables and hydraulic lines must be selected for the vehicle. Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures the disc brake systems and components used throughout its motorsport, street-performance and specialized product range. Bill Wood established Wilwood in 1977, and the company is based in Camarillo, California. Its calipers, brake rotors, valves, master cylinders, brake lines and fittings are selected according to the demands of the whole brake installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

The red SRP configuration is for the documented old Big Ford end, not the later flange style. Establish the 2.36-inch axle offset and bearing match using DS527; inspect the installed axle rather than relying on the Town Car entry. The included parking assembly uses the specified bearing-retainer arrangement. Allow for the 6.61-inch flange/chamfer limit and a 3.06-inch rotor center, reduced to 2.80 inches by the supplied ring when appropriate. Select hoses and cable/clevis connections separately for the completed vehicle.

Adjust and test the mechanical parking brake as directed. Cable routing, tension and shoe adjustment affect its holding ability; do not rely on an untested parking brake alone to secure the vehicle on a slope.
