Product details

This front conversion uses red Dynalite calipers and plain-face iron rotors on the supplied dual-pattern hubs. The documented 1979–1990 GM applications share the required 11-inch-rotor spindle arrangement, with model-specific qualifications retained below. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines as part of its disc brake systems and component range for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Each component must suit the requirements of the complete brake installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

This hub kit is for the specified GM factory disc spindles with original 11-inch rotors. The application list includes 1979–1981 Camaro/Firebird, selected 1979 GM compact models, the listed full-size cars and wagons through 1985–1986, and Caprice through 1990. Match each model-year entry and spindle requirement rather than assuming every GM car in this range is covered.

DS504 requires substantial spindle/steering-arm machining, including drilled and tapped bracket holes and removal of interfering ears. Have a qualified machine shop perform the work. Front hoses, including the listed 220-10509 reference, are separate and require vehicle-specific routing checks.

The wheel contact surface must seat fully on the hub. If it overhangs the hub face, Wilwood requires the separate 6.60-inch-diameter x 0.20-inch steel spacer 300-11961. For stamped-steel wheels that do not overhang, Wilwood recommends the 6.15-inch x 0.09-inch hub shield 300-10716. Inspect contact surfaces and follow the wheel maker’s tightening requirements.
