Product details
Red powder-coated calipers distinguish this plain-rotor version of the early Ford front conversion. The included hubs and bearings support 12.19-inch vented rotors, while the four-piston Dynalite calipers mount on application-specific brackets. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are all part of Wilwood Engineering’s range of disc brake systems and components. The Camarillo, California company was founded in 1977 by Bill Wood and designs and manufactures these products for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Compatibility with the complete brake system determines the appropriate component choice.

Fitment & Compatibility
The red plain-rotor option requires the documented early Ford drum-brake spindle and correct bearing dimensions. Verify the individual 1937–1948 passenger-car, delivery or pickup entry; the long application span does not imply that every Ford axle shares this arrangement. Use DS481 to check hub placement and bracket alignment, and select compatible front lines separately. Wilwood lists the 18-inch 220-8307 hose option, subject to suitable routing. Inspect wheel seating carefully on the supplied hubs before the vehicle is put into service.
The wheel contact surface must seat fully on the hub. If it overhangs the hub face, Wilwood requires the separate 6.60-inch-diameter x 0.20-inch steel spacer 300-11961. For stamped-steel wheels that do not overhang, Wilwood recommends the 6.15-inch x 0.09-inch hub shield 300-10716. Inspect contact surfaces and follow the wheel maker’s tightening requirements.
