Wilwood Front Polished Dynalite Hub Kit, Plain 12.19-Inch Rotors for Ford Drum Spindles (1937–1948)

For an early Ford build using plain-face rotors, this kit supplies polished four-piston Dynalite calipers and the matching hub conversion hardware. The 12.19-inch iron rotors attach through separate adapters, with the factory spindle retained when it meets the application requirements. Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures the disc brake systems and components used throughout its motorsport, street-performance and specialized product range. Bill Wood established Wilwood in 1977, and the company is based in Camarillo, California. Its calipers, brake rotors, valves, master cylinders, brake lines and fittings are selected according to the demands of the whole brake installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Confirm the early Ford drum spindle against DS481 before fitting this polished-caliper package. The qualified 1937–1948 applications include the named passenger-car models, pickups and sedan deliveries in the table, but a truck's badge does not establish the spindle or bearing dimensions. The conversion supplies new hubs and bearings. Separate hydraulic hoses must suit the Wilwood calipers; the listed 220-8307 package is an 18-inch reference whose routing must be checked on the vehicle. Follow the hub-contact and wheel-shield requirements below.

The wheel contact surface must seat fully on the hub. If it overhangs the hub face, Wilwood requires the separate 6.60-inch-diameter x 0.20-inch steel spacer 300-11961. For stamped-steel wheels that do not overhang, Wilwood recommends the 6.15-inch x 0.09-inch hub shield 300-10716. Inspect contact surfaces and follow the wheel maker’s tightening requirements.

2. Universal Flexline kits available: 220-7056 (14"), 220-7699 (16") or 220-8307 (18"). Choose correct length for your application.
3. Master Cylinder may require modification to existing pushrod assembly to install.
4. This front brake kit contains no parking-brake mechanism. Parking-brake cable selection belongs to the separate rear brake installation.
