Product details
The polished/plain-disc version retains the mechanical parking function within the drum/rotors. Its polished 4-piston calipers and 12.19-inch plain-face rotors are assembled around the requirements of Ford 8.8 five-lug, 2.50-inch offset. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, designs and manufactures disc brake systems in Camarillo, California. The range includes calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, with each component chosen to suit the complete brake system.
Fitment & Compatibility
This conversion is arranged for the Ford 8.8-inch rear axle with five-lug wheel mounting and the specified 2.50-inch axle offset. A four-lug axle or an assembly with different shafts and offset must not be assumed compatible. Use DS426 together with the axle worksheet to identify what is actually installed. The kit combines four-piston service braking with internal shoes in the parking-brake drums; the hydraulic calipers do not perform the mechanical parking function. Provide the housing and axle measurements when requesting assistance; the installed hardware determines compatibility. Check wheel bolt-circle compatibility, parking-cable attachment and the flexline route before assembly. Each of those checks matters independently of the Ford 8.8 differential designation.
Print and use the manufacturer wheel template at its specified scale. Check the barrel, spoke shape and offset on the wheels that will actually be used.
Package and installation requirements
- The one-piece iron drum/rotors incorporate the parking-brake drums; the internal shoes provide a mechanical parking brake independently of the four-piston service calipers.
- Parking-brake cables and hydraulic brake lines are separate. Wilwood references universal cable kit 330-9371; installation can require cable or vehicle modifications.

- Rotor/hat wheel-stud clearance patterns: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm.
- Rotor/hat stud-hole clearance diameters: 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. These are hole sizes, not wheel-stud thread specifications.
- The rotor/hat drilling does not change the vehicle hub or axle wheel bolt pattern.
