Polished calipers distinguish the patterned-disc option for the five-lug Ford rear axle. For Ford 8.8 five-lug, 2.50-inch offset, Wilwood specifies polished 4-piston calipers and 12.19-inch SRP drilled-and-slotted rotors in this rear package. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977. From Camarillo, California, the company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. This kit should be matched to the hydraulic and mechanical requirements of the complete vehicle.
Package and installation requirements
- The one-piece iron drum/rotors incorporate the parking-brake drums; the internal shoes provide a mechanical parking brake independently of the four-piston service calipers.
- Parking-brake cables and hydraulic brake lines are separate. Wilwood references universal cable kit 330-9371; installation can require cable or vehicle modifications.
Fitment & Compatibility
This conversion is arranged for the Ford 8.8-inch rear axle with five-lug wheel mounting and the specified 2.50-inch axle offset. A four-lug axle or an assembly with different shafts and offset must not be assumed compatible. Use DS426 together with the axle worksheet to identify what is actually installed. The kit combines four-piston service braking with internal shoes in the parking-brake drums; the hydraulic calipers do not perform the mechanical parking function. Provide the housing and axle measurements when requesting assistance; the installed hardware determines compatibility. Check wheel bolt-circle compatibility, parking-cable attachment and the flexline route before assembly. Each of those checks matters independently of the Ford 8.8 differential designation.
Before ordering, compare the wheel profile with the Wilwood clearance diagram. The stated minimum size does not establish spoke or barrel clearance for every wheel of that diameter.

- Rotor/hat stud-hole clearance diameters: 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. These are hole sizes, not wheel-stud thread specifications.
- The rotor/hat drilling does not change the vehicle hub or axle wheel bolt pattern.
- Rotor dimensions: 12.19 in; 309.63 mm diameter x 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thick.
- Rotor construction: Iron; vented; SRP Drilled & Slotted friction surface.
- Housing/flange arrangement: 8.8 Ford.
