The five-lug Ford 8.8-inch axle receives both disc brakes and internal parking-brake shoes in this package. This Forged Dynalite rear disc and parking-brake kit combines black powder-coated 4-piston calipers and 12.19-inch plain-face rotors. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its range includes calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, selected to work together as a complete brake system.

- Rotor/hat stud-hole clearance diameters: 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. These are hole sizes, not wheel-stud thread specifications.
- The rotor/hat drilling does not change the vehicle hub or axle wheel bolt pattern.

- Axle flange offset: 2.50 in; 63.5 mm.
- Wheel-size guide: 15 in; 381 mm minimum nominal diameter; verify actual template clearance.

- Spindles, master cylinder, brake booster and hydraulic brake lines are not included.
Fitment & Compatibility
This conversion is arranged for the Ford 8.8-inch rear axle with five-lug wheel mounting and the specified 2.50-inch axle offset. A four-lug axle or an assembly with different shafts and offset must not be assumed compatible. Use DS426 together with the axle worksheet to identify what is actually installed. The kit combines four-piston service braking with internal shoes in the parking-brake drums; the hydraulic calipers do not perform the mechanical parking function. Provide the housing and axle measurements when requesting assistance; the installed hardware determines compatibility. Check wheel bolt-circle compatibility, parking-cable attachment and the flexline route before assembly. Each of those checks matters independently of the Ford 8.8 differential designation.
Use the wheel-clearance drawing in the installation instructions before purchase. The catalog minimum diameter is a guide; barrel shape, spoke clearance and wheel offset still determine fit.
Package and installation requirements
- The one-piece iron drum/rotors incorporate the parking-brake drums; the internal shoes provide a mechanical parking brake independently of the four-piston service calipers.
- Parking-brake cables and hydraulic brake lines are separate. Wilwood references universal cable kit 330-9371; installation can require cable or vehicle modifications.
