Product details

Plain vented discs meet red Dynalite calipers in this OE C-clip rear package. The Forged Dynalite rear disc and parking-brake kit is supplied with red powder-coated 4-piston calipers and 12.19-inch plain-face rotors for Chevrolet 12-bolt OE C-clip, 2.75/2.81-inch offset. Since Bill Wood founded the company in 1977, Camarillo, California-based Wilwood Engineering has designed and manufactured disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its components include calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines; all must be matched to the intended brake system.

Package and installation requirements

  • The one-piece iron drum/rotors incorporate the parking-brake drums; the internal shoes provide a mechanical parking brake independently of the four-piston service calipers.
  • Parking-brake cables and hydraulic brake lines are separate. Wilwood references universal cable kit 330-9371; installation can require cable or vehicle modifications.
  • Not for Special housing ends or C-clip eliminators.

  • Rotor/hat stud-hole clearance diameters: 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. These are hole sizes, not wheel-stud thread specifications.
  • The rotor/hat drilling does not change the vehicle hub or axle wheel bolt pattern.
  • Sold as one kit. Mounting hardware is included. Hubs are not included.
  • Brake pads are included; use the compound and installation instructions specified for this rotor package.
  • Spindles, master cylinder, brake booster and hydraulic brake lines are not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

This Chevrolet package is for the original 12-bolt housing-end design with C-clip axle retention. It accepts the specified 2.75- and 2.81-inch axle-offset arrangements; it is not the fixed-bearing Special-end kit. C-clip eliminators or replacement ends change the mounting requirements and are excluded. Compare the actual end with DS421 rather than selecting from a differential-cover description. The vehicle list includes modified GM applications, but their front spindle qualifiers do not identify the rear housing. Check that rear axle independently. Installation retains the original axle-retention arrangement while adding service discs and internal parking shoes. Brake lines, parking cables, wheel clearance and the hydraulic balance of the complete vehicle must be checked as separate parts of the conversion.

Measure clearance at both the caliper and rotor using the instruction-sheet drawing. Wheels with the same nominal diameter can have different internal profiles.
