A lightweight steel drag rotor and Type III anodized caliper distinguish this rear package from Wilwood street brake conversions. This Forged Dynalite rear drag brake kit combines Type III anodized 4-piston calipers and 11.44-inch drilled rotors. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its range includes calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, selected to work together as a complete brake system.

Fitment & Compatibility

This rear drag package uses the Chevrolet 12-bolt Special housing end with a 3.15-inch fixed bearing. Its solid steel rotor is 11.44 inches in diameter and 0.35 inch thick, unlike the thicker vented iron rotors in street-oriented packages. Wilwood limits this kit to cars equipped with four-wheel disc brakes. Type III anodizing is the specified caliper finish; the suffix should not be interpreted as black powder coating. Axle selection remains unresolved until measurements are confirmed: the live product listing gives 2.91 inches, whereas the DS454 cover identifies 2.81 inches. Contact Wilwood with the measured housing-end details before choosing this kit. The broad modified-GM application rows do not settle that dimensional conflict or identify the rear axle actually installed.

Use the wheel-clearance drawing in the installation instructions before purchase. The catalog minimum diameter is a guide; barrel shape, spoke clearance and wheel offset still determine fit.
