Product details
Wilwood front drag kit for specified Mustang/Thunderbird five-lug spindles. Check V8/SVO/Turbo Coupe fitment, spindle changes and vehicle weight. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, is based in Camarillo, California. It designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and lines must be selected to suit the complete braking system.

- Manufacturer part number: 140-4503-BD
- Rotor configuration: 10.75-inch diameter and 0.35-inch thickness; drilled solid steel.
- Caliper assembly: 4 stainless pistons in each forged aluminum caliper, with type iii anodized finish.
- Mount and inlet: Lug caliper attachment with 1/8-27 NPT fluid inlets.
- Hub wheel drilling: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 4.75 in (5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 120.65 mm)
- Wheel fit: 15-inch nominal minimum; check both barrel and spoke clearance against the installation template.
- Kit supply: hubs, mounting hardware
- Not included: master cylinder, booster, spindles, flexible brake lines
- Manufacturer use/weight limit: For use on cars up to 2800 pounds with rear discs or on cars up to 2400 pounds with rear drums
Fitment & Compatibility
Check the table below for 1984–1986 Mustang SVO, 1987–1993 Mustang V8 and 1987–1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe qualifications. DS-253 supports 5 x 4.50 and 5 x 4.75 wheel patterns only; the original four-lug configuration is not retained. Observe the 2,800-pound vehicle limit with rear discs or 2,400 pounds with rear drums, and follow the spindle-modification instructions.
