Product details
Wilwood SRP rotors and black Dynalite calipers convert the specified Mustang 8.8 rear end. Verify five-lug geometry and the 2.50-inch axle offset. Bill Wood established Wilwood Engineering in 1977. From its base in Camarillo, California, the company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Individual parts are matched to complete motorsport, street-performance or specialized installations.
Technical Details
- Manufacturer part number: 140-3018-BD
- Required axle: The five-lug Mustang 8.8-inch housing and 2.50-inch axle offset specified in DS-209.
- Brake package: Rear service brakes only; no mechanical parking-brake assembly.
- Rotors supplied: SRP drilled/slotted vented iron, 12.19-inch diameter and 0.81-inch width.
- Dynalite calipers: Four stainless pistons per forged-aluminum caliper; black powder-coated exterior and lug mounting.
- Hydraulic inlet: Use the specified 1/8-27 NPT connection and select flexible lines separately.
- Hat hole patterns: 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75 and 5 x 5.00 inches; verify the actual axle/wheel drilling.
- Wheel check: Wilwood lists a nominal 15-inch minimum, subject to the installation drawing and wheel shape.
- Installation scope: Mounting hardware is supplied. Vehicle hubs, spindles, master cylinder and booster are not part of this kit.
Fitment & Compatibility
Identify the installed Mustang 8.8-inch axle before converting to this five-lug service-brake package. The mounting dimensions must follow DS-209: measure the 2.50-inch axle offset and compare the housing flange and bearing retention. Order the hydraulic lines separately, then confirm the wheel clears the caliper and rotor. No parking-brake mechanism is included.
