Product details

The red GT rear package brings 14-inch rotors and AERO4 four-piston calipers to a matching GM six-lug axle. Parking is handled by the supplied internal drum assemblies rather than electric auxiliary calipers. From its base in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977, the company also produces the individual calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines used in these installations. Selection should account for how each component works within the complete brake system.

Fitment & Compatibility

For the red AERO4 and GT rotor combination, establish that the vehicle has the specified K5 Blazer/K10 rear flange and 2.46-inch axle offset. Coverage is limited to the individual six-lug Chevrolet/GMC 4x4 entries in the table, including their K-series, Suburban, Blazer and Jimmy year splits within 1971–1991.

Check the axle dimensions in DS1677 before fitting the 14-inch assembly. Its center register is 3.55 inches and the lug layout is 6 x 5.5 inches; the flange limit is 7.05 inches with a 0.050-inch, 45-degree chamfer. The enclosed parking shoes need vehicle-appropriate cables and clevises, which are not supplied. Hydraulic lines are also purchased separately.
