Wilwood Rear FDLI Electric Parking Conversion for GM Six-Lug 4x4 (1971–1991), Black 12.19-Inch GT

This black FDLI rear conversion combines 12.19-inch GT-slotted rotor/hat assemblies with electric parking calipers for compatible GM six-lug axles. The four-piston hydraulic service brakes use BP-10 pads, and the EPB controller and harness are supplied. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are all part of Wilwood Engineering’s range of disc brake systems and components. The Camarillo, California company was founded in 1977 by Bill Wood and designs and manufactures these products for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Compatibility with the complete brake system determines the appropriate component choice.

Fitment & Compatibility

For the listed 1971–1991 GM six-lug 4x4 rear applications, this 12.19-inch FDLI conversion adds electric parking brakes. K-series pickups and Suburbans, Blazer/K5 Blazer and Jimmy each have their own year qualifications. Check the actual housing flange and 2.46-inch offset, particularly if the axle has been changed.

The rear axle must provide the documented 3.55-inch register and 6 x 5.5-inch stud pattern. DS1674 limits flange diameter to 7.05 inches with a 0.050-inch x 45-degree chamfer. Hydraulic hoses/fittings are additional items; allow room for the separate electric calipers and route the supplied parking-brake wiring according to the manual.

The electric parking brake is for stationary parking, not an emergency-stop brake. Applying it while the vehicle is moving can lock the rear wheels and cause a skid. Follow the wiring and holding-test procedures in the manufacturer’s instructions.
