Wilwood Rear Black Superlite Electric Parking Conversion — Big Ford New Style 2.50-Inch Offset, 12.88-Inch SRP

Black four-piston Superlite calipers accompany drilled/slotted 12.88-inch SRP rotors in this Big Ford rear EPB package. A controller and harness operate the parking calipers, eliminating the need for a mechanical parking cable at those calipers. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines as part of its disc brake systems and component range for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Each component must suit the requirements of the complete brake installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

For this Superlite/EPB kit, the Big Ford New Style flange and 2.50-inch axle offset govern alignment of the 12.88-inch rear rotor. The axle must use a six-lug 6 x 5.5-inch pattern. Do not infer a stock-axle fit from the generic 1990 Town Car table entry; confirm the actual housing, register and flange dimensions.

The axle flange is limited to 6.61 inches and requires a 0.050-inch x 45-degree chamfer; check the 2.80-inch register against DS1650. Include clearance for the separate parking calipers in the wheel check. The EPB controller and harness are supplied, while hydraulic hoses and fittings remain separate installation items.

The electric parking brake is for stationary parking, not an emergency-stop brake. Applying it while the vehicle is moving can lock the rear wheels and cause a skid. Follow the wiring and holding-test procedures in the manufacturer’s instructions.
