GM 1500 truck and SUV armored-vehicle front brakes combine anodized AERO6-DM calipers, TX1 pads and 13.38-inch rotors. Verify model and brake layout. The conversion combines the caliper, pad and rotor configuration specified for this axle and mounting arrangement. Since its founding by Bill Wood in 1977, Wilwood Engineering has designed and manufactured disc brake systems and components. The company is based in Camarillo, California. Calipers, master cylinders, rotors, brake lines, fittings and valves make up a range serving motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, with each component chosen for the complete system.

Fitment & Compatibility

This is the armored-vehicle AERO6-DM package for the GM truck/SUV applications listed below, using TX1 pads and the specified factory disc spindle. Chevrolet models include Silverado 1500, Silverado 1500 LTD, Suburban and Tahoe; GMC models include Sierra 1500, Sierra 1500 Limited, Yukon and Yukon XL; Cadillac coverage includes Escalade and Escalade ESV. Truck coverage starts in 2019 and SUV coverage in 2021, with exact trim/year limits in each table row. DS-1590 requires dust-shield trimming. The original pad wear sensor is not used by these calipers and must be retained and secured on the vehicle as directed. Wheel, payload and braking-system compatibility require individual review for an armored conversion.
