Product details

Refresh both rear service brakes with forged aluminum D31 two-piston calipers, new 11.42-inch vented rotors, BP-10 pads and braided hoses.

Match the brakes and suspension actually fitted to the car. Changed struts, hubs, uprights or previous brake conversions need a separate fitment check.

Carrera Turbo Look is excluded. For the 1989 Carrera 4 row, contact PMB with the VIN and photographs of the installed brakes before ordering.

Check the rear caliper mounts and hardware; front-strut measurements do not identify the required rear brake setup.

Why choose this kit?

  • Replace the rear calipers, pads, 24mm-configuration rotors and flexible hoses together while retaining the classic Carrera rear hubs and internal parking brake.
  • 2-piston D31 calipers: forged aluminum bodies with stainless steel pistons and dust boots.
  • BP-10 street-performance pads: a practical compound for everyday response and wear. Dedicated track use may require a different pad compound, fluid and cooling plan.

What is included?

  • 2 D31 calipers in the selected finish, 2 pistons per caliper.
  • 1 axle set of BP-10 brake pads, enough for both rear calipers.
  • 2 vented rotors, 11.42 × 0.95 inches, in the selected surface pattern.
  • Direct-mount caliper fasteners for the original mounting bosses; separate adapter brackets are not required.
  • 1 rear braided stainless steel flexline kit, part 220-17551, serving both wheels with the specified connection hardware.
  • Specified caliper mounting hardware, hose adapter fittings and crush washers.

Reused or purchased separately: Wheel hubs, struts/uprights, master cylinder, brake booster, wheels and brake fluid are not included. Original parking-brake shoes, hardware and cables are retained and are not supplied as new parts.

Wheel clearance and installation

Wilwood lists a 15-inch nominal minimum wheel diameter. Diameter alone does not confirm fit: check the barrel and spoke profile against the wheel-clearance drawing and Figure 3, page 3 of the instructions. Maintain at least 0.080 inch (about 2mm) between the wheel and caliper in all areas.

The installer must check hose fittings, length and clearance through full suspension travel.

Common questions

Does one kit cover the whole car?

No. Quantity 1 covers both rear wheels. The opposite axle is a separate purchase; select it for your car’s actual brake configuration and evaluate the finished front-to-rear balance.

What happens to the parking brake?

The original internal parking-brake arrangement is retained. Inspect and adjust its shoes, hardware and cable, and confirm the rotor drum interface during installation. Replacement parking-brake components are not included.

Do I need a different master cylinder?

Wilwood’s instructions permit the stock master cylinder for the documented application. The installer must still confirm pedal travel, system condition and front-to-rear brake balance, especially on a modified car.
