Vehicle Fitment
| Porsche model | Years | Version / application | Required brake setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| 911 | 1969–1974 | S-type front struts | 3.50-inch S/A front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
| 911 | 1975 | Carrera | 3.50-inch S/A front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
| 911 | 1975–1977 | S | 3.50-inch S/A front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
| 911 | 1978–1983 | SC | 3.50-inch S/A front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
| 911 | 1983 | Base | 3.50-inch S/A front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
Match the brakes and suspension actually fitted to the car. Changed struts, hubs, uprights or previous brake conversions need a separate fitment check.
Measure between the centers of the caliper mounting holes, not across the strut tube. Use the mounting distance specified in the table.
The installation sheet covers the 1975–1983 installation procedure. Earlier S-strut cars must still match the 3.50-inch mounting points and 20 mm front-rotor configuration.

Why choose this kit?
- Replace the factory S/A calipers with forged aluminum D45 units that use the original 3.50-inch mounting points, plus new 20mm-configuration rotors and hoses.
- 2-piston D45 calipers: forged aluminum bodies with stainless steel pistons and dust boots.
- BP-10 street-performance pads: a practical compound for everyday response and wear. Dedicated track use may require a different pad compound, fluid and cooling plan.
What is included?
- 2 D45 calipers in the selected finish, 2 pistons per caliper.
- 1 axle set of BP-10 brake pads, enough for both front calipers.
- 2 vented rotors, 11.10 × 0.80 inches, in the selected surface pattern.
- Direct-mount caliper fasteners for the original mounting bosses; separate adapter brackets are not required.
- 1 front braided stainless steel flexline kit, part 220-17550, serving both wheels with the specified connection hardware.
- Specified rotor/caliper installation hardware and hose fittings. Use the supplied connections; front D31/D45 installations require the new banjo bolts and crush washers in the kit.
Reused or purchased separately: Wheel hubs, struts/uprights, master cylinder, brake booster, wheels and brake fluid are not included.
Wheel clearance and installation
Wilwood lists a 15-inch nominal minimum wheel diameter. Diameter alone does not confirm fit: check the barrel and spoke profile against the wheel-clearance drawing and Figure 2, page 3 of the instructions. Maintain at least 0.080 inch (about 2mm) between the wheel and caliper in all areas.
The installer must check hose fittings, length and clearance through full suspension travel and steering lock.
Common questions
Does one kit cover the whole car?
No. Quantity 1 covers both front wheels. The opposite axle is a separate purchase; select it for your car’s actual brake configuration and evaluate the finished front-to-rear balance.
Do I need a different master cylinder?
Wilwood’s instructions permit the stock master cylinder for the documented application. The installer must still confirm pedal travel, system condition and front-to-rear brake balance, especially on a modified car.
Need help choosing? Ask PMB to check your Porsche’s brake configuration. Send the model/year, VIN, wheel size and photos of the installed brakes, plus caliper mounting-center and rotor-thickness measurements.

Installation must be performed by a person experienced in disc-brake systems. Follow the complete instructions for bleeding, bedding, testing and inspection before road use.
