Product details
Refresh both front brakes with forged aluminum D31 two-piston calipers, new 11.10-inch vented rotors, BP-10 pads and braided hoses.
Vehicle Fitment
| Porsche model | Years | Version / application | Required brake setup |
|---|---|---|---|
| 911 | 1969–1974 | M-type front struts | 3.00-inch M-type front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
| 914-6 | 1970–1971 | Factory six-cylinder | 3.00-inch M-type front caliper mounts; 20 mm front-rotor configuration |
Match the brakes and suspension actually fitted to the car. Changed struts, hubs, uprights or previous brake conversions need a separate fitment check.
Measure between the centers of the caliper mounting holes, not across the strut tube. Use the mounting distance specified in the table.
The 914-6 row applies to the factory six-cylinder front setup; it does not establish fitment for a four-cylinder 914 or a car converted to different struts.

Why choose this kit?
- Use modern forged aluminum, two-piston D31 calipers on the original 3.00-inch M-strut mounting points, with new factory-size rotors and hoses.
- 2-piston D31 calipers: forged aluminum bodies with stainless steel pistons and dust boots.
- BP-10 street-performance pads: a practical compound for everyday response and wear. Dedicated track use may require a different pad compound, fluid and cooling plan.
What is included?
- 2 D31 calipers in the selected finish, 2 pistons per caliper.
- 1 axle set of BP-10 brake pads, enough for both front calipers.
- 2 vented rotors, 11.10 × 0.80 inches, in the selected surface pattern.
- Direct-mount caliper fasteners for the original mounting bosses; separate adapter brackets are not required.
- 1 front braided stainless steel flexline kit, part 220-17550, serving both wheels with the specified connection hardware.
- Specified rotor/caliper installation hardware and hose fittings. Use the supplied connections; front D31/D45 installations require the new banjo bolts and crush washers in the kit.
Reused or purchased separately: Wheel hubs, struts/uprights, master cylinder, brake booster, wheels and brake fluid are not included.
Wheel clearance and installation
Wilwood lists a 15-inch nominal minimum wheel diameter. Diameter alone does not confirm fit: check the barrel and spoke profile against the wheel-clearance drawing and Figure 2, page 3 of the instructions. Maintain at least 0.080 inch (about 2mm) between the wheel and caliper in all areas.
The installer must check hose fittings, length and clearance through full suspension travel and steering lock.
Common questions
Does one kit cover the whole car?
No. Quantity 1 covers both front wheels. The opposite axle is a separate purchase; select it for your car’s actual brake configuration and evaluate the finished front-to-rear balance.
Do I need a different master cylinder?
Wilwood’s Porsche 911 instructions permit the stock master cylinder for that documented installation. For a 914-6, confirm master-cylinder sizing and the complete front/rear brake combination with the installer. The installer must still confirm pedal travel, system condition and front-to-rear brake balance, especially on a modified car.
