Wilwood Rear Red Superlite Calipers, 14.00-Inch SRP Rotors & Internal Parking Brake for Chevrolet / GMC C1500 (1988–1998)

This rear Superlite 4R package brings together 14.00-inch srp drilled & slotted brake rotors, pads and red 4-piston Wilwood calipers for Chevrolet / GMC C1500 (1988–1998). Rotor registration, caliper mounting and the wheel envelope should all be compared with the installation drawing. Established by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering develops disc-brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. The range spans calipers and brake rotors through master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, all requiring selection to suit the other parts of the brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-17543-DR; supplied as an axle kit.
• Service calipers: Forged Narrow Superlite 4R; 4 pistons per caliper; Red Powder Coat; radial mounting; stainless pistons.
• Hydraulic lines: Hydraulic flexlines and fittings are not included; select compatible lines for the complete installation.
• Rotor specification: Material: Spec-37 Iron; Type: SRP Drilled Rotor; Style: SRP Drilled & Slotted; Surface Finish: Black Electro Coat.
• Wheel envelope: 18-inch minimum nominal wheel diameter; verify the entire wheel-clearance drawing, including spoke and barrel shape.
• Rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm; cataloged hole clearances 0.580 in; 14.73 mm. These are rotor or hat drillings, not replacement wheel studs. The retained hub or axle determines the vehicle wheel pattern.
• Hydraulic sizing: cataloged bore sizes 1.12, 1.12 inches; piston area 1.98 square inches; inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Parking brake: Internal shoe parking brake supplied; modify the original cable with included cable-end adapter kit 330-17540.
• Brake rotor size: 14.00-inch outside diameter × 1.10-inch thickness; vented friction section.
• Rotor hats: Aluminum parking brake hat - standard; Black E-Coat; hat offset 1.950 inches. Hat offset is distinct from axle offset.
• Hardware and retained components: Mounting hardware supplied; existing wheel hubs retained; spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are not included.
• Housing-flange requirement: 88-98 C1500 flange; 3.25-inch axle offset, measured using the manufacturer worksheet.
• Supplied friction pads: BP-10 compound; match operating conditions to the intended use.

Fitment & Compatibility

This 14-inch rear package uses the five-lug C1500 axle documented in DS1564. Verify the 3.25-inch offset, axle flange and the Chevrolet/GMC model row below before removing the original drum brakes. Clearance is based on the complete 18-inch wheel drawing. The OE parking cable needs cutting and adaptation using the included cable-end kit; select separate hydraulic hoses for the final axle installation.
