Product details
Black calipers and 12.19-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. This staggered rear brake conversion combines four-piston Dynalite Internal service calipers with 12.19-inch rotors and internal drum parking-brake assemblies. The axle interface is the BOP 2.75-inch bearing flange with a 2.75-inch axle offset. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.
Technical Details
- Product identification: Wilwood 140-16989-D. Package quantity: one kit for the stated configuration.
- The brake package includes pads and required mounting hardware, excluding spindles, master cylinder and booster.
- Drum parking-brake assemblies are included inside the rotor hats. Supply parking cables, cable hardware/adapters and hydraulic hoses/fittings separately.
- Hydraulic line selection is a separate purchase. Check hose length, adapters and routing before assembly.
- Check the wheel-clearance diagram before purchase; the nominal minimum wheel diameter is 15 inches.
- Connect the hydraulic line through the 1/8-27 NPT caliper inlet.
- This assembly leaves the documented wheel hubs in use. It supplies brake components rather than new hubs.
- Piston sizing follows the published 1.38, 1.38-inch specification. The included brake-pad compound is BP-10.
- Caliper selection is 4-piston Forged Dynalite Internal. Body finish: black powder coat; attachment: lug; piston material: stainless.
- Rotor package uses SRP Drilled Rotor & Hat components. Each is 0.81 inch thick with 12.19-inch diameter and SRP drilled & slotted faces. Published material: Iron.
Fitment & Compatibility
Measure the rear axle before choosing the Dynalite package: the required BOP bearing flange is 2.75 inches, axle offset is 2.75 inches, and the bracket set is staggered for the corresponding shock arrangement. DS-1530 identifies the 1964–1970 Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac axle family without establishing a particular model here. The axle flange may be no larger than 6.61 inches with the documented chamfer. Check rotor register and 1/2-inch stud holes; smaller factory studs may need a machine-shop conversion. Cables, cable fittings/adapters and hydraulic hoses/fittings are separate purchases.
