Product details
This staggered rear brake conversion combines four-piston Dynapro Low-Profile service calipers with 11.00-inch rotors and internal drum parking-brake assemblies. The axle interface is the BOP 2.75-inch bearing flange with a 2.75-inch axle offset. Red calipers and 11.00-inch plain face rotors are the selected configuration. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was established by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are matched to the requirements of the whole system.
Technical Details
- Kit supplied under manufacturer part number 140-16988-R; one listed axle/application assembly.
- Each service caliper uses 4 stainless pistons and the Forged Dynapro Low Profile body design. It attaches through lug mounts and carries a red powder coat finish.
- Verify the existing hub dimensions: replacement wheel hubs are outside the scope of this package.
- A 14-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
- Drum parking-brake assemblies are included inside the rotor hats. Supply parking cables, cable hardware/adapters and hydraulic hoses/fittings separately.
- The rotor friction surfaces are plain face. The assembly diameter is 11.00 inches; rotor width is 0.81 inch and material is Iron.
- An axle pad set in BP-10 compound accompanies the calipers, whose published bores are 1.38, 1.38 inches.
- The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
- This package excludes flexible brake hoses. Select the documented caliper and chassis-end connections separately.
- Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.
Fitment & Compatibility
Use measured axle dimensions: BOP 2.75-inch bearing flange, 2.75-inch offset and the staggered shock/caliper layout. DS-1529 describes the 1964–1970 Buick/Oldsmobile/Pontiac axle arrangement, but no particular vehicle model is established here. Confirm the flange drawing, rotor register and axle-flange maximum of 6.61 inches with the specified chamfer. The rotor hat is drilled for 1/2-inch wheel studs; upgrading smaller studs may require machining. Hydraulic hoses/fittings and parking cables, hardware or adapters are not supplied.
