Wilwood Front Chevrolet Tri-Five ProSpindle Cars (1955–1957) Brake Kit with Red AERO6 Calipers and 14-Inch GT Slotted Rotors

AERO6 six-piston front calipers are paired with 14.00-inch rotor rings and replacement aluminum hubs for the Wilwood Tri-Five ProSpindle. Its thicker rotor specification and AERO pad format distinguish it from the Superlite packages. Red calipers and 14.00-inch GT slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was established by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are matched to the requirements of the whole system.

Technical Details

• Wilwood kit number 140-16910-R; sold as the listed axle brake package.
• AERO6 service calipers have 6 pistons and radial mounts. The finish is red powder coat; piston material is stainless.
• Caliper bore sizes are 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches; the axle pad set uses BP-20 compound.
• Separate aluminum hats position the rotor with 1.000 inch offset and a black e-coat finish.
• Replacement hubs are aluminum and come with the specified bearings/seals. Wheel drilling: 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75 inches; studs: 1/2-20.
• Caliper inlet thread is 1/8-27 NPT.
• Published minimum rim diameter is 18 inches. Use the template to check spoke clearance as well.
• Provide suitable flexible hoses and caliper/chassis fittings; the brake kit does not supply flexlines.
• Supplied items include the pads and mounting fasteners; no replacement spindle, master cylinder or booster is included.
• The supplied rotor measures 14.00 inches across and 1.25 inch thick. Surface configuration: GT slotted; construction: Spec-37 Iron.

Fitment & Compatibility

Install around Wilwood's 2.00-inch-drop ProSpindles, ordered separately as 831-16660, with customer-supplied original steering arms. The AERO6 conversion has a 0.34-inch per-side outward track change and needs the 18-inch wheel envelope checked against the drawing. Its Chevrolet entries distinguish Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery and Two-Ten Series 1955–1957 from Del Ray 1957. Compare the replacement hub pattern and select the flexible brake hoses before assembly.
