Product details
Black calipers and 14.00-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. AERO6 six-piston front calipers are paired with 14.00-inch rotor rings and replacement aluminum hubs for the Wilwood Tri-Five ProSpindle. Its thicker rotor specification and AERO pad format distinguish it from the Superlite packages. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.
Technical Details
- Kit supplied under manufacturer part number 140-16910-D; one listed axle/application assembly.
- Each service caliper uses 6 stainless pistons and the AERO6 body design. It attaches through radial mounts and carries a black powder coat finish.
- The hat specification calls for aluminum, black e-coat and an offset of 1.000 inch.
- The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
- This package excludes flexible brake hoses. Select the documented caliper and chassis-end connections separately.
- The rotor friction surfaces are SRP drilled & slotted. The assembly diameter is 14.00 inches; rotor width is 1.25 inch and material is Spec-37 Iron.
- An axle pad set in BP-10 compound accompanies the calipers, whose published bores are 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches.
- Wheel hubs are part of this package: aluminum construction, 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75-inch patterns and 1/2-20 wheel studs; bearings and seals are included.
- An 18-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
- Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.
Fitment & Compatibility
Install around Wilwood's 2.00-inch-drop ProSpindles, ordered separately as 831-16660, with customer-supplied original steering arms. The AERO6 conversion has a 0.34-inch per-side outward track change and needs the 18-inch wheel envelope checked against the drawing. Its Chevrolet entries distinguish Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery and Two-Ten Series 1955–1957 from Del Ray 1957. Compare the replacement hub pattern and select the flexible brake hoses before assembly. Read the fitment table below for the exact year and option combination; do not apply one row's restrictions to another vehicle.
