Wilwood Front FNSL6R Kit in Red for Chevrolet Tri-Five ProSpindle Cars (1955–1957), 14-Inch GT Slotted Brake Rotors

The 14.00-inch FNSL6R front conversion uses six-piston Superlite calipers, separate rotor hats and aluminum hubs for the Tri-Five ProSpindle layout. This larger-rotor version requires the matching wheel envelope and spindle geometry. Red calipers and 14.00-inch GT slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was established by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are matched to the requirements of the whole system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16909-R. One kit for the documented axle/application.
• Rotors: 14.00-inch outside diameter × 1.10-inch thickness, GT slotted faces, Spec-37 Iron material.
• Calipers: Forged Narrow Superlite 6R, 6 pistons, stainless piston material. Radial mount and red powder coat finish.
• Published piston bores: 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches. Included pads: BP-20.
• Rotor hats: aluminum, black e-coat, 1.100-inch offset.
• Aluminum hubs, bearings and seals are supplied. Wheel pattern choices: 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75 inches, with 1/2-20 studs.
• Hydraulic inlet: 1/8-27 NPT.
• Nominal wheel minimum: 18 inches; verify the complete caliper profile against the wheel drawing.
• Flexlines are not included. Choose the required hydraulic hoses and adapters separately.
• Pads and mounting hardware are included. Spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are separate.

Fitment & Compatibility

The required Wilwood Tri-Five ProSpindle is the separately sold 831-16660 kit; original steering arms are reused. This Superlite configuration uses 14.00-inch rotors and has a published 0.23-inch outward hub offset on each side, making wheel track and spoke clearance part of the selection. It covers the listed Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery and Two-Ten Series 1955–1957 plus Del Ray 1957. Match the hub stud pattern and 18-inch wheel drawing and provide suitable hoses.
