Wilwood Front FNSL6R Brake Kit, Chevrolet Tri-Five ProSpindle Cars (1955–1957): 14-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors with Black Calipers

Black calipers and 14.00-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. The 14.00-inch FNSL6R front conversion uses six-piston Superlite calipers, separate rotor hats and aluminum hubs for the Tri-Five ProSpindle layout. This larger-rotor version requires the matching wheel envelope and spindle geometry. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.

Technical Details

• Product identification: Wilwood 140-16909-D. Package quantity: one kit for the stated configuration.
• The brake package includes pads and required mounting hardware, excluding spindles, master cylinder and booster.
• Hydraulic line selection is a separate purchase. Check hose length, adapters and routing before assembly.
• Check the wheel-clearance diagram before purchase; the nominal minimum wheel diameter is 18 inches.
• Connect the hydraulic line through the 1/8-27 NPT caliper inlet.
• The kit includes new aluminum hubs and their bearing hardware. Select the 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75-inch wheel pattern and 1/2-20 studs.
• Rotor mounting is through separate aluminum hats, offset 1.100 inch and finished in black e-coat.
• Piston sizing follows the published 1.62, 1.12, 1.12-inch specification. The included brake-pad compound is BP-10.
• Caliper selection is 6-piston Forged Narrow Superlite 6R. Body finish: black powder coat; attachment: radial; piston material: stainless.
• Rotor package uses SRP Drilled Rotor components. Each is 1.10 inch thick with 14.00-inch diameter and SRP drilled & slotted faces. Published material: Spec-37 Iron.

Fitment & Compatibility

The required Wilwood Tri-Five ProSpindle is the separately sold 831-16660 kit; original steering arms are reused. This Superlite configuration uses 14.00-inch rotors and has a published 0.23-inch outward hub offset on each side, making wheel track and spoke clearance part of the selection. It covers the listed Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery and Two-Ten Series 1955–1957 plus Del Ray 1957. Match the hub stud pattern and 18-inch wheel drawing and provide suitable hoses. Read the fitment table below for the exact year and option combination; do not apply one row's restrictions to another vehicle.
