Wilwood Front FNSL6R Brake Kit for Chevrolet Tri-Five ProSpindle Cars (1955–1957), Red Calipers / GT Slotted Rotors at 12.88 Inches

Six-piston FNSL6R front calipers and 12.88-inch rotors join replacement aluminum hubs in this Tri-Five ProSpindle package. Separate hats position the rotor rings around the specifically required Wilwood spindle. Red calipers and 12.88-inch GT slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was established by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are matched to the requirements of the whole system.

Technical Details

• Kit supplied under manufacturer part number 140-16908-R; one listed axle/application assembly.
• Each service caliper uses 6 stainless pistons and the Forged Narrow Superlite 6R body design. It attaches through radial mounts and carries a red powder coat finish.
• The hat specification calls for aluminum, black e-coat and an offset of 1.100 inch.
• The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• This package excludes flexible brake hoses. Select the documented caliper and chassis-end connections separately.
• The rotor friction surfaces are GT slotted. The assembly diameter is 12.88 inches; rotor width is 1.10 inch and material is Spec-37 Iron.
• An axle pad set in BP-20 compound accompanies the calipers, whose published bores are 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches.
• Wheel hubs are part of this package: aluminum construction, 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75-inch patterns and 1/2-20 wheel studs; bearings and seals are included.
• A 17-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
• Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

Verify Wilwood 831-16660 two-inch-drop ProSpindles before selecting this 12.88-inch Superlite package. Spindles are purchased separately and the steering arms come from the customer. The original-spindle arrangement is unsuitable. Listed Chevrolet bodies are Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery and Two-Ten Series for 1955–1957, and Del Ray for 1957. A 0.23-inch per-side outward wheel-track change is published; confirm the new hub pattern and 17-inch wheel template.
