Wilwood Front Hub and Brake Kit for Chevrolet Tri-Five ProSpindle Cars (1955–1957), Black FNSL6R Calipers with 12.88-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors

Black calipers and 12.88-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Six-piston FNSL6R front calipers and 12.88-inch rotors join replacement aluminum hubs in this Tri-Five ProSpindle package. Separate hats position the rotor rings around the specifically required Wilwood spindle. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.

Technical Details

• The Wilwood manufacturer part number is 140-16908-D. This product is sold as a kit.
• The black powder coat caliper bodies are Forged Narrow Superlite 6R units with 6 pistons. Stainless pistons and radial mounts are specified.
• 12.88-inch rotors are supplied in the SRP drilled & slotted configuration; the published thickness is 1.10 inch. These rotors use Spec-37 Iron.
• Friction material supplied is BP-10; the caliper bore measurements are 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches.
• A 1.100-inch hat offset locates each rotor ring. Hats use aluminum construction and black e-coat finish.
• Replacement hubs are aluminum and come with the specified bearings/seals. Wheel drilling: 5 x 4.50, 5 x 4.75 inches; studs: 1/2-20.
• Caliper inlet thread is 1/8-27 NPT.
• Published minimum rim diameter is 17 inches. Use the template to check spoke clearance as well.
• Provide suitable flexible hoses and caliper/chassis fittings; the brake kit does not supply flexlines.
• Supplied items include the pads and mounting fasteners; no replacement spindle, master cylinder or booster is included.

Fitment & Compatibility

Verify Wilwood 831-16660 two-inch-drop ProSpindles before selecting this 12.88-inch Superlite package. Spindles are purchased separately and the steering arms come from the customer. The original-spindle arrangement is unsuitable. Listed Chevrolet bodies are Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery and Two-Ten Series for 1955–1957, and Del Ray for 1957. A 0.23-inch per-side outward wheel-track change is published; confirm the new hub pattern and 17-inch wheel template. Read the fitment table below for the exact year and option combination; do not apply one row's restrictions to another vehicle.
