Product details

TX4R four-piston rear calipers and 16.00-inch one-piece rotors replace the specified GM truck rear service brakes while retaining the factory parking-brake components. This kit uses the existing axle hubs and requires separately selected hydraulic flexlines. Red calipers and 16.00-inch GT slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was established by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are matched to the requirements of the whole system.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 140-16861-R. One kit for the documented axle/application.
  • Rotors: 16.00-inch outside diameter × 1.25-inch thickness, GT slotted faces, Iron material.
  • Calipers: TX4R, 4 pistons, stainless piston material. Radial mount and red powder coat finish.
  • Published piston bores: 1.62, 1.38 inches. Included pads: BP-22.
  • Matching existing wheel hubs are retained; replacement hubs are not included.
  • Hydraulic inlet: 1/8-27 NPT.
  • Nominal wheel minimum: 20 inches; verify the complete caliper profile against the wheel drawing.
  • Flexlines are not included. Choose the required hydraulic hoses and adapters separately.
  • Retains the specified original parking-brake components; it does not supply new parking shoes, cables or electric actuators.
  • Pads and mounting hardware are included. Spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are separate.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the exact OE rear-brake configuration and axle, especially the single-piston versus HD dual-piston distinctions. The table names Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pickup/1500/1500 LD, Tahoe, Avalanche, Suburban 1500/Suburban; GMC Sierra 1500 Pickup/1500/1500 Limited, Yukon, Yukon XL 1500/Yukon XL; and Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT and Escalade ESV. Year coverage varies by model within 1999–2020, with Classic/New Style, police and four-wheel-steering restrictions. Dust-shield trimming is required, and the original parking-brake mechanism must remain serviceable.
