Product details

TX4R four-piston rear calipers and 16.00-inch one-piece rotors replace the specified GM truck rear service brakes while retaining the factory parking-brake components. Red calipers and 16.00-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. This kit uses the existing axle hubs and requires separately selected hydraulic flexlines. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized systems, with selection governed by the complete brake installation.

Technical Details

  • Kit supplied under manufacturer part number 140-16861-DR; one listed axle/application assembly.
  • Each service caliper uses 4 stainless pistons and the TX4R body design. It attaches through radial mounts and carries a red powder coat finish.
  • Verify the existing hub dimensions: replacement wheel hubs are outside the scope of this package.
  • A 20-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
  • Retains the specified original parking-brake components; it does not supply new parking shoes, cables or electric actuators.
  • The rotor friction surfaces are SRP drilled & slotted. The assembly diameter is 16.00 inches; rotor width is 1.25 inch and material is Iron.
  • An axle pad set in BP-22 compound accompanies the calipers, whose published bores are 1.62, 1.38 inches.
  • The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
  • This package excludes flexible brake hoses. Select the documented caliper and chassis-end connections separately.
  • Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the exact OE rear-brake configuration and axle, especially the single-piston versus HD dual-piston distinctions. The table names Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Pickup/1500/1500 LD, Tahoe, Avalanche, Suburban 1500/Suburban; GMC Sierra 1500 Pickup/1500/1500 Limited, Yukon, Yukon XL 1500/Yukon XL; and Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT and Escalade ESV. Year coverage varies by model within 1999–2020, with Classic/New Style, police and four-wheel-steering restrictions. Dust-shield trimming is required, and the original parking-brake mechanism must remain serviceable. The table below preserves the individual vehicle and brake-option entries; select the complete matching row before ordering.

With over 20 years of parts and application experience, PMB Performance can help compare this assembly with your existing brakes. Supply the hub, axle or spindle specification and wheel-clearance information before ordering.
