Wilwood Front Brake Conversion, Anodized AERO6-ST / GT Slotted 14-Inch Package for Ford Mustang (1994–2004)

AERO6-ST six-piston Thermlock calipers, 14.00-inch GT rotors and dynamic lug-drive hats form this Mustang front road-race package. The anodized assembly includes BP-40 racing pads and braided flexlines. Anodized calipers and 14.00-inch GT slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its range includes calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, chosen to match the complete system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer identification: 140-16859, supplied as one application-specific kit.
• Rotor dimensions (diameter/width): 14.00 / 1.25 inches. GT Slotted design in Spec-37 Iron.
• Pads supplied: BP-40. Piston bore dimensions: 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches.
• Match the retained hub to the hat holes (5 x 4.50 inches); no new wheel-hub pattern is created.
• The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• Hose package 220-6458 is included. Keep the braided lines free of strain, abrasion and contact with moving parts.
• Service caliper specification: AERO6 in Type III anodize, using radial mounting and 6 Thermlock pistons.
• Hat material/finish: aluminum / Type III anodize. Published hat offset: 0.400 inch.
• Verify the existing hub dimensions: replacement wheel hubs are outside the scope of this package.
• An 18-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
• Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check the Mustang Base, GT, SVT Cobra and Mach 1 rows individually, including the stated IRS exclusions on some Cobra entries. Confirm the front hub and upright arrangement and the 18-inch wheel template. The BP-40 pad compound is intended for high-temperature racing; extended low-temperature use can accelerate rotor and pad wear. Front-to-rear balance must be evaluated for the completed brake system.
