Product details

This configuration supplies red electric parking calipers with attached motor units. The dual-caliper EPB retrofit adds electrically actuated parking brakes to a fabricated rear brake installation. Both parking calipers, the controller, harness and control switch are supplied; the package is selected for a nominal 1.25-inch rotor thickness. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.

Technical Details

  • Kit reference: Wilwood manufacturer part number 140-16849-RD. Supplied quantity is one kit.
  • No hydraulic hose connection is needed for these parking calipers. Retain a separate hydraulic service-brake system.
  • Dual-caliper controller, harness and switch are included. Keep the supplied 40 A fuse in the 12 V supply circuit and use the specified accessory/ignition lead.
  • Selected EPB caliper envelope: 1.19–1.25-inch rotor width, 11–14-inch rotor diameter and 4.75-inch lug-mount centers. Rotors and custom mounting brackets are separate.
  • Both left and right EPB parking calipers are included in red powder coat finish. Lug mounting; electrically actuated with no hydraulic ports.

Fitment & Compatibility

This universal retrofit needs custom mounting brackets and a verified rotor/caliper envelope. The selected EPB caliper specification permits 1.19–1.25-inch rotor width and 11.00–14.00-inch rotor diameter, with 4.75-inch lug-mount centers. Rotors and service brakes are separate. Use the DS-1353 wiring layout, a 12 V supply with the supplied 40 A fuse retained, and the specified ignition/accessory connection. EPB is for static parking, not emergency stopping of a moving vehicle.
