Wilwood Front Brake Conversion, Red D11 / Plain 11.29-Inch Package for Ford/Mercury Disc-Spindle Cars (1965–1967)

The full D11 front brake conversion supplies four-piston calipers, 11.29-inch one-piece hub/rotor castings, bearings, pads and flexlines. It uses the existing Ford/Mercury disc spindle and caliper bracket rather than a replacement spindle. Red calipers and 11.29-inch plain face rotors are the selected configuration. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was established by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines are matched to the requirements of the whole system.

Technical Details

• Order specification: manufacturer part number 140-16801-R; quantity one brake kit.
• The piston diameter specification is 1.62, 1.62 inches, paired with PM - ProMatrix brake pads.
• The one-piece rotor castings incorporate the wheel hubs, with the documented bearings, grease seals and hub hardware supplied.
• Hydraulic inlet: 1/8-27 NPT.
• Nominal wheel minimum: 14 inches; verify the complete caliper profile against the wheel drawing.
• Included braided flexline kit: 220-12168. Match its chassis fittings and final routing.
• Pads and mounting hardware are included. Spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are separate.
• Brake rotor specification: 1 PC Hub and Rotor, with plain face friction faces. Overall size is 11.29 × 0.94 inches. Material: Iron.
• Lug-mounted D11 calipers are supplied. Each has 4 pistons in stainless, with red powder coat on the caliper body.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the 1965–1967 disc-spindle applications for Falcon, Mustang, Ranchero, Fairlane, Comet, Caliente, Cougar and Cyclone. Early entries require V8 disc spindles; retain the appropriate original caliper bracket. The factory dust shields must be removed. These rotors incorporate the wheel hubs and have a 5 x 4.50-inch wheel pattern; the kit is nominally described as 11.30 inches, with an exact published rotor diameter of 11.29 inches.
