Wilwood Front D11 Conversion with 11.29-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors and Red Calipers, Ford/Mercury Disc-Spindle Cars (1965–1967)

The full D11 front brake conversion supplies four-piston calipers, 11.29-inch one-piece hub/rotor castings, bearings, pads and flexlines. Red calipers and 11.29-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. It uses the existing Ford/Mercury disc spindle and caliper bracket rather than a replacement spindle. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized systems, with selection governed by the complete brake installation.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer identification: 140-16801-DR, supplied as one application-specific kit.
• Rotor dimensions (diameter/width): 11.29 / 0.94 inches. SRP Drilled & Slotted design in Iron.
• Pads supplied: PM - ProMatrix. Piston bore dimensions: 1.62, 1.62 inches.
• The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• Hose package 220-12168 is included. Keep the braided lines free of strain, abrasion and contact with moving parts.
• Service caliper specification: D11 in red powder coat, using lug mounting and 4 stainless pistons.
• The one-piece rotor castings incorporate the wheel hubs, with the documented bearings, grease seals and hub hardware supplied.
• A 14-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
• Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the 1965–1967 disc-spindle applications for Falcon, Mustang, Ranchero, Fairlane, Comet, Caliente, Cougar and Cyclone. Early entries require V8 disc spindles; retain the appropriate original caliper bracket. The factory dust shields must be removed. These rotors incorporate the wheel hubs and have a 5 x 4.50-inch wheel pattern; the kit is nominally described as 11.30 inches, with an exact published rotor diameter of 11.29 inches.
