Wilwood Front Caliper Upgrade for Ford/Mercury Disc-Spindle Cars (1965–1967), Red D11 with Braided Hoses

D11 four-piston calipers replace the original front calipers on the documented Ford/Mercury disc-brake spindle arrangement. Red calipers are supplied in this configuration. This caliper-and-pad package includes braided flexlines and retains serviceable matching rotors, hubs and factory caliper brackets. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized systems, with selection governed by the complete brake installation.

Technical Details

• Wilwood kit number 140-16799-R; sold as the listed axle brake package.
• Caliper bore sizes are 1.62, 1.62 inches; the axle pad set uses PM - ProMatrix compound.
• The original hub arrangement must be retained or provided separately. No replacement wheel hubs come with the kit.
• Caliper inlet thread is 1/8-27 NPT.
• Published minimum rim diameter is 14 inches. Use the template to check spoke clearance as well.
• Braided hydraulic hoses are supplied under reference 220-12168; verify connections and full suspension clearance.
• Supplied items include the pads and mounting fasteners; no replacement spindle, master cylinder or booster is included.
• D11 service calipers have 4 pistons and lug mounts. The finish is red powder coat; piston material is stainless.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use only with the specified 1965–1967 factory disc spindles and original caliper brackets. The table covers Falcon, Mustang, Ranchero, Fairlane, Comet, Caliente, Cougar and Cyclone, with V8 disc-spindle restrictions on the early entries. Remove the factory dust shields as directed. Rotors and replacement hubs are not supplied with this caliper-only kit. The table below preserves the individual vehicle and brake-option entries; select the complete matching row before ordering.
