Wilwood Front Black D11 Caliper and Pad Conversion, Ford/Mercury Disc-Spindle Cars (1965–1967)

Black calipers are supplied in this configuration. D11 four-piston calipers replace the original front calipers on the documented Ford/Mercury disc-brake spindle arrangement. This caliper-and-pad package includes braided flexlines and retains serviceable matching rotors, hubs and factory caliper brackets. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16799-BK. One kit for the documented axle/application.
• Calipers: D11, 4 pistons, stainless piston material. Lug mount and black powder coat finish.
• Published piston bores: 1.62, 1.62 inches. Included pads: PM - ProMatrix.
• Matching existing wheel hubs are retained; replacement hubs are not included.
• Hydraulic inlet: 1/8-27 NPT.
• Nominal wheel minimum: 14 inches; verify the complete caliper profile against the wheel drawing.
• Included braided flexline kit: 220-12168. Match its chassis fittings and final routing.
• Pads and mounting hardware are included. Spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are separate.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use only with the specified 1965–1967 factory disc spindles and original caliper brackets. The table covers Falcon, Mustang, Ranchero, Fairlane, Comet, Caliente, Cougar and Cyclone, with V8 disc-spindle restrictions on the early entries. Remove the factory dust shields as directed. Rotors and replacement hubs are not supplied with this caliper-only kit. Read the fitment table below for the exact year and option combination; do not apply one row's restrictions to another vehicle.
