Wilwood Front Brake Conversion for Chevrolet/GMC DSE C10 Trucks (1973–1987), Red FNSL6R and 13.06-Inch SRP Drilled/Slotted Rotors

The FNSL6R front conversion pairs six-piston Superlite calipers with 13.06-inch rotors for the DSE C10 drop-spindle setup. Red calipers and 13.06-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. Its rotor rings bolt to separate short-offset hats while the existing matching wheel hubs remain in use. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Wilwood designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized systems, with selection governed by the complete brake installation.

Technical Details

• Kit supplied under manufacturer part number 140-16781-DR; one listed axle/application assembly.
• Each service caliper uses 6 stainless pistons and the Forged Narrow Superlite 6R body design. It attaches through radial mounts and carries a red powder coat finish.
• The hat specification calls for aluminum, black e-coat and an offset of 0.810 inch.
• Verify the existing hub dimensions: replacement wheel hubs are outside the scope of this package.
• A 17-inch nominal wheel is the starting point. Its spoke and barrel shape must clear the actual brake assembly.
• Mounting hardware and brake pads come with the kit. Spindles, a master cylinder and a brake booster are not included.
• The rotor friction surfaces are SRP drilled & slotted. The assembly diameter is 13.06 inches; rotor width is 1.25 inch and material is Spec-37 Iron.
• An axle pad set in BP-10 compound accompanies the calipers, whose published bores are 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• Match the retained hub to the hat holes (5 x 4.75, 5 x 5.00 inches); no new wheel-hub pattern is created.
• The specified caliper hydraulic connection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• This package excludes flexible brake hoses. Select the documented caliper and chassis-end connections separately.

Fitment & Compatibility

Select this package only for the Detroit Speed and Engineering 1973–1987 C10 drop spindle, not an original truck spindle. Chevrolet Blazer, C10 Pickup, C10, C10 Suburban, K5 Blazer, R10 Pickup and R10 Suburban appear with GMC C15/C1500 Suburban, C1500 Pickup, Jimmy, C15 Suburban, C1500 Suburban, R1500 Pickup and R1500 Suburban.
