Wilwood Front AERO6 Brake Kit, Chevrolet/GMC DSE C10 Trucks (1973–1987): 14.25-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors with Black Calipers

Black calipers and 14.25-inch SRP drilled & slotted rotors are the selected configuration. AERO6 six-piston calipers and 14.25-inch rotor rings form this front brake conversion for the Detroit Speed C10 drop-spindle arrangement. Separate hats fit over the matching hubs, so the kit selection must follow the installed DSE spindle and hub combination. Wilwood Engineering, founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, is based in Camarillo, California. The company makes disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Each component must suit the surrounding brake system.

Technical Details

• The Wilwood manufacturer part number is 140-16780-D. This product is sold as a kit.
• The black powder coat caliper bodies are AERO6 units with 6 pistons. Stainless pistons and radial mounts are specified.
• 14.25-inch rotors are supplied in the SRP drilled & slotted configuration; the published thickness is 1.25 inch. These rotors use Spec-37 Iron.
• Friction material supplied is BP-10; the caliper bore measurements are 1.75, 1.38, 1.38 inches.
• A 0.810-inch hat offset locates each rotor ring. Hats use aluminum construction and black e-coat finish.
• The hat stud holes are drilled for 5 x 4.75, 5 x 5.00 inches. This does not alter the wheel pattern of the retained hub.
• The original hub arrangement must be retained or provided separately. No replacement wheel hubs come with the kit.
• Caliper inlet thread is 1/8-27 NPT.
• Published minimum rim diameter is 18 inches. Use the template to check spoke clearance as well.
• Provide suitable flexible hoses and caliper/chassis fittings; the brake kit does not supply flexlines.
• Supplied items include the pads and mounting fasteners; no replacement spindle, master cylinder or booster is included.

Fitment & Compatibility

Requires the Detroit Speed and Engineering 1973–1987 C10 drop spindle; original equipment spindles are not compatible. The application table separates Chevrolet Blazer, C10/C10 Pickup, C10 Suburban, K5 Blazer, R10 Pickup and R10 Suburban from GMC C15/C1500 Suburban, C1500 Pickup, Jimmy, C15 Suburban, C1500 Suburban, R1500 Pickup and R1500 Suburban. Match each year and spindle entry. The two hat drillings do not change the retained hub wheel pattern. Read the fitment table below for the exact year and option combination; do not apply one row's restrictions to another vehicle.
