Wilwood GT-Slotted Rear Brake Conversion, Red Superlite and Electric Parking Calipers, Chevy 12-Bolt C-Clip Axle, 12.88-Inch Rotors, 2.75-Inch Offset

The GT-slotted configuration combines red Superlite service calipers with undrilled 12.88-inch Spec-37 rings and aluminum hats. Separate motor-driven EPB calipers provide static parking hold on the matched Chevy 12-bolt rear axle. Wilwood Engineering began in 1977 under founder Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. It designs and manufactures disc braking equipment for motorsport, specialized applications and street-performance vehicles. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines form part of the range and must match the requirements of the complete system.

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16165-R; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Rotor material and surface: Spec-37 Iron; vented; GT Slotted; surface finish Black Electro Coat.
• Supplied service pads: BP-10 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Narrow Superlite 4R; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; radial mounting; Stainless pistons.
• Parking-brake package: Two separate electric parking calipers, control unit, switch with pigtail and universal wiring harness included; vehicle electrical connections require installation.
• Rear axle interface: 12 Bolt housing flange; 2.75 in; 69.85 mm axle offset. Measure the installed assembly.
• Rotor dimensions: 12.88 in; 327.15 mm outside diameter; 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thick.
• Caliper finish and port: Red Powder Coat; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Hydraulic installation: Hydraulic lines and fittings are separate and must be selected for the vehicle; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.520 in; 13.21 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Rotor mounting hats: Aluminum; Black E-Coat; hat offset 2.035 inches. This is a hat dimension, not the axle offset.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 17 in; 431.8 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.

Fitment & Compatibility

This kit is selected for 12 Bolt geometry at 2.75 inches of axle offset. Wheel-stud pattern and register dimensions must match the supplied rotors or hats, and the parking motors and harness connectors need clearance throughout suspension travel. Compare the intended 17-inch or larger wheel with the installation drawing. Confirm C-clip axle retention and end play; a C-clip eliminator or different housing flange requires its own fit assessment.

Use the fitment table below together with a measured axle check. A model name alone does not establish conversion compatibility; compare the flange, axle offset, register and chosen wheel pattern. For Chevelle, 442, Beaumont, Camaro and Apollo vehicles, establish rear-axle fit independently of the front spindle configuration. Confirm the housing flange, axle retention and offset on the installed rear assembly.

A separate electric caliper at each rear wheel performs the parking function; it does not replace the hydraulic service circuit. Supplied EPB equipment includes the controller, switch/pigtail and wiring harness. Install the vehicle power, ground and accessory connections using DS1353. Use the system only for parking hold, not emergency stopping.
