Wilwood Black Rear Superlite Conversion with Drilled 12.88-Inch Rotors and Electric Parking Brake, Chevy 12-Bolt C-Clip Housing, 2.75-Inch Offset

This drilled Superlite rear package uses black radial-mount service calipers and Spec-37 rings on separate aluminum hats. Its electric parking system adds dedicated motorized calipers and controls to the documented Chevy 12-bolt C-clip installation. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977. Wilwood designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, specialized vehicles and street-performance applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be selected in relation to the other components in the finished brake system.

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16165-D; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Caliper finish and port: Black Powder Coat; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Rotor material and surface: Spec-37 Iron; vented; SRP Drilled & Slotted; surface finish Black Electro Coat.
• Hydraulic installation: Hydraulic lines and fittings are separate and must be selected for the vehicle; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Parking-brake package: Two separate electric parking calipers, control unit, switch with pigtail and universal wiring harness included; vehicle electrical connections require installation.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.520 in; 13.21 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 17 in; 431.8 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Supplied service pads: BP-10 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Rear axle interface: 12 Bolt housing flange; 2.75 in; 69.85 mm axle offset. Measure the installed assembly.
• Rotor mounting hats: Aluminum; Black E-Coat; hat offset 2.035 inches. This is a hat dimension, not the axle offset.
• Rotor dimensions: 12.88 in; 327.15 mm outside diameter; 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thick.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Narrow Superlite 4R; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; radial mounting; Stainless pistons.

Fitment & Compatibility

Installation requires the 12 Bolt housing flange and a measured 2.75-inch axle offset. Compare the housing bolt pattern, bearing/axle retention, wheel pattern and center registration with the kit drawing, then check both service-caliper and EPB-motor clearance. Nominal 17-inch wheel diameter is only the starting point. Confirm C-clip axle retention and end play; a C-clip eliminator or different housing flange requires its own fit assessment.

Use the fitment table below together with a measured axle check. A model name alone does not establish conversion compatibility; compare the flange, axle offset, register and chosen wheel pattern. For Chevelle, 442, Beaumont, Camaro and Apollo vehicles, establish rear-axle fit independently of the front spindle configuration. Confirm the housing flange, axle retention and offset on the installed rear assembly.

The supplied EPB switch and pigtail connect through a universal harness to the controller and separate parking-caliper motors. Vehicle-specific power, ground and ignition/accessory wiring still requires installation under DS1353. This static-hold system is independent of the service brakes and is not intended for emergency stopping.
