Wilwood Rear Dynalite Plain-Rotor Kit with Red Calipers and EPB Controls, Big Ford Axle Housing, 2.36-Inch Offset

This plain-rotor rear conversion uses red four-piston Dynalite service calipers and dedicated electric parking calipers. The rotor location is fixed by the Big Ford housing flange and 2.36-inch axle offset, so those dimensions must be measured on the installed axle. Wilwood Engineering has its base in Camarillo, California and was founded by Bill Wood in 1977. The company’s work covers disc brake systems and components for specialized vehicles, street-performance applications and motorsport. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be chosen with the rest of the braking system in mind.

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16142-R; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Caliper finish and port: Red Powder Coat; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Rotor dimensions: 12.19 in; 309.63 mm outside diameter; 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thick.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 15 in; 381 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Rotor material and surface: Iron; vented; Plain Face; surface finish Plain.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Dynalite Internal; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; lug mounting; Stainless pistons.
• Supplied service pads: BP-10 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Rear axle interface: Big Ford housing flange; 2.36 in; 59.94 mm axle offset. Measure the installed assembly.
• Parking-brake package: Two separate electric parking calipers, control unit, switch with pigtail and universal wiring harness included; vehicle electrical connections require installation.
• Hydraulic installation: Hydraulic lines and fittings are separate and must be selected for the vehicle; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

This kit is selected for Big Ford geometry at 2.36 inches of axle offset. Wheel-stud pattern and register dimensions must match the supplied rotors or hats, and the parking motors and harness connectors need clearance throughout suspension travel. Compare the intended 15-inch or larger wheel with the installation drawing.

Use the fitment table below together with a measured axle check. A model name alone does not establish conversion compatibility; compare the flange, axle offset, register and chosen wheel pattern. For a 1990 Lincoln Town Car, identify the actual axle and confirm the specified interface; do not select this conversion from model and year alone.

The supplied EPB switch and pigtail connect through a universal harness to the controller and separate parking-caliper motors. Vehicle-specific power, ground and ignition/accessory wiring still requires installation under DS1353. This static-hold system is independent of the service brakes and is not intended for emergency stopping.
