Wilwood Red Rear Disc and Electric Parking Brake Conversion for Big Ford Flanges, Drilled 12.19-Inch Rotors and 2.36-Inch Offset

Red Dynalite hydraulic calipers operate drilled 12.19-inch rotor assemblies in this Big Ford rear kit. A separate red EPB pair provides parking hold, with controller and wiring included; hydraulic lines are an additional installation requirement. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, Wilwood Engineering is based in Camarillo, California. Its disc brake systems and components serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. The range includes calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, chosen to suit the mounting and hydraulic requirements of the complete system.

• Manufacturer part number — 140-16142-DR; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter — 15 in; 381 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Rear axle interface — Big Ford housing flange; 2.36 in; 59.94 mm axle offset. Measure the installed assembly.
• Rotor dimensions — 12.19 in; 309.63 mm outside diameter; 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thick.
• Rotor material and surface — Iron; vented; SRP Drilled & Slotted; surface finish Black Electro Coat.
• Hydraulic service calipers — Forged Dynalite Internal; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; lug mounting; Stainless pistons.
• Mechanical contents — Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern — 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Hydraulic installation — Hydraulic lines and fittings are separate and must be selected for the vehicle; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Supplied service pads — BP-10 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Parking-brake package — Two separate electric parking calipers, control unit, switch with pigtail and universal wiring harness included; vehicle electrical connections require installation.
• Caliper finish and port — Red Powder Coat; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the actual rear axle to the Big Ford diagram and 2.36-inch offset before disassembly. Verify the bearing arrangement, axle register and wheel-bolt pattern independently, including any changes made during a previous axle conversion. Use the full 15-inch minimum wheel envelope for both caliper positions.

Vehicle fitment in the table below remains conditional on axle identity. Measure the housing flange, bearing/retention arrangement, register and offset rather than relying on vehicle year. For a 1990 Lincoln Town Car, identify the actual axle and confirm the specified interface; do not select this conversion from model and year alone.

Service braking remains hydraulic; the additional electric calipers are for static parking hold and must not be used as an emergency stop brake. The switch/pigtail, controller and universal EPB harness are supplied. Plan the vehicle’s 12V power, ground and ignition/accessory wiring and protect all motor leads according to DS1353.
