Wilwood Black Dynalite Rear Disc Conversion, Big Ford 2.36-Inch Axles, 12.19-Inch Plain Rotors with Electronic Parking Brake

Black Dynalite four-piston calipers and plain 12.19-inch iron rotor/hat assemblies provide rear service braking for the specified Big Ford axle. Electric parking calipers and their controls are supplied as a separate holding system. Wilwood Engineering began in 1977 under founder Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. It designs and manufactures disc braking equipment for motorsport, specialized applications and street-performance vehicles. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines form part of the range and must match the requirements of the complete system.

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16142; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 15 in; 381 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Parking-brake package: Two separate electric parking calipers, control unit, switch with pigtail and universal wiring harness included; vehicle electrical connections require installation.
• Caliper finish and port: Black Powder Coat; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Rotor dimensions: 12.19 in; 309.63 mm outside diameter; 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thick.
• Supplied service pads: BP-10 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Hydraulic installation: Hydraulic lines and fittings are separate and must be selected for the vehicle; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Dynalite Internal; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; lug mounting; Stainless pistons.
• Rear axle interface: Big Ford housing flange; 2.36 in; 59.94 mm axle offset. Measure the installed assembly.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Rotor material and surface: Iron; vented; Plain Face; surface finish Plain.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use only an axle that matches the documented Big Ford flange and 2.36-inch offset. Rear-end names can conceal different bearing flanges, so measure the installed parts. Check the rotor register, studs, axle retention and complete wheel outline rather than relying on the nominal 15-inch wheel size.

Review the fitment table below after identifying the rear axle. Confirm housing-flange dimensions, retention hardware, offset, register and wheel pattern against the kit drawing. For a 1990 Lincoln Town Car, identify the actual axle and confirm the specified interface; do not select this conversion from model and year alone.

Service braking remains hydraulic; the additional electric calipers are for static parking hold and must not be used as an emergency stop brake. The switch/pigtail, controller and universal EPB harness are supplied. Plan the vehicle’s 12V power, ground and ignition/accessory wiring and protect all motor leads according to DS1353.
