Wilwood Red Rear Brake Kit for New-Style Big Ford Flanges, 2.36-Inch Offset, Plain 12.19-Inch Rotors and Electric Parking Function

The plain-face version of this new-style Big Ford rear conversion uses red Dynalite calipers for service braking. Motor-driven EPB calipers hold the parked vehicle through the same rotor assembly, with dedicated switch and controller hardware included. Wilwood Engineering was established in 1977 by Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. It designs and manufactures disc brake equipment for specialized applications, motorsport and street-performance use. The product range includes calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines; each is chosen to meet the complete system’s requirements.

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16130-R; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.52 in; 13.21 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Dynalite Internal; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; lug mounting; Stainless pistons.
• Rotor dimensions: 12.19 in; 309.63 mm outside diameter; 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thick.
• Hydraulic installation: Hydraulic lines and fittings are separate and must be selected for the vehicle; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Rotor material and surface: Iron; vented; Plain Face; surface finish Plain.
• Parking-brake package: Two separate electric parking calipers, control unit, switch with pigtail and universal wiring harness included; vehicle electrical connections require installation.
• Rear axle interface: Big Ford New Style housing flange; 2.36 in; 59.94 mm axle offset. Measure the installed assembly.
• Caliper finish and port: Red Powder Coat; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Supplied service pads: BP-10 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 15 in; 381 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.

Fitment & Compatibility

This kit is selected for Big Ford New Style geometry at 2.36 inches of axle offset. Wheel-stud pattern and register dimensions must match the supplied rotors or hats, and the parking motors and harness connectors need clearance throughout suspension travel. Compare the intended 15-inch or larger wheel with the installation drawing.

Vehicle fitment in the table below remains conditional on axle identity. Measure the housing flange, bearing/retention arrangement, register and offset rather than relying on vehicle year. For a 1990 Lincoln Town Car, identify the actual axle and confirm the specified interface; do not select this conversion from model and year alone.

The supplied EPB switch and pigtail connect through a universal harness to the controller and separate parking-caliper motors. Vehicle-specific power, ground and ignition/accessory wiring still requires installation under DS1353. This static-hold system is independent of the service brakes and is not intended for emergency stopping.
